We have a date!

We are hoping that - if all goes to plan - on the 8th June we will be on site at the chapel selling coffee and cake in our newly converted camper van!

It has been interesting getting Rodders the camper van sorted. Who would have known how complex it could be the food hygiene standards would be to sell coffee out of a camper van? He will have not one, but 2 sinks, and a fridge that is guaranteed to go below 8’C!

We have a plan and we have started to make it happen.

The Camper Van

The coffee will be served out of the boot. To date, we have built this floating platform and fancy drawer out of scrap wood to keep filters and all other necessary coffee making essentials in. Next week, we will be wiring in the ring main and adapting a standard kitchen unit to mount the sink unit; it's all very complicated to try to fit so much in such a small space but we have an excellent team on it!

And a team who aren't so hands on, but so vital to the process, just like the incredible Roots community who have donated some money to help us to buy a generator.  We have learnt lots of electrical lessons along the way – did you know an urn needs 11 amps out of an available 16 to run? Well we didn’t, and everyday is a school day - especially for us right now! We have had some help from some extremely clever people to find a solution to every problem that we've faced!

 The Chapel

We have successfully filled our second skip, which included the delightful job of clearing out the toilets! So the building is now empty and fully boarded up!

The amazing John and his digger have been to clear and level the ground, so now we have an incredible open field to work with!

The next job is to put down a membrane and gravel everywhere which is happening over the next week and we are hoping to get lots of volunteers to help spread 20 tonnes worth over the grounds!

A massive thank you to Adam for helping us to get the right equipment at the right price. You have no idea how helpful you were (www.webbsofruncorn.co.uk)

We have had a couple of roofing quotes and so we are now applying for lots of grants to try and get the holes sorted by the winter.

We have been working hard to develop our branding, with the incredible Rich Coan (http://richardcoandesign.co.uk/) so if you have any ideas at all please let us know. Rich you are amazing and we couldn't be more grateful!

We will not only need voluteers to get to june the 8th, but also afterwards selling coffee. If you can help in anyway - big or small, everything is appreciated - please get in touch at info@wace.org.uk

Exciting things are happening!
